Basketball

Basketball is stop-and-go, jump-and-land, cut-and-drive, over and over. Every possession asks your ankles, knees, and hips to absorb force and change direction fast. Our sports-focused team helps players move well, recover faster, and stay on the court longer, from your first pickup game to your last season.

Stay On The Court

Basketball rewards players who keep moving, and the court punishes small problems that get ignored.

Here's what every player should know:

The good news: most of these injuries are predictable, and much of the risk is trainable. That is where we come in.

Built For Every Player

Whatever level you play at, we tailor care to your court time, your goals, and your body.

New Players

  • Building safe movement habits before bad ones set in.
  • Learning to land and cut without overloading your knees.

Start strong so your first season is not your last.

Youth & School

  • Managing growing bodies through heavy training loads.
  • Protecting knees and ankles during rapid skill development.

We keep young athletes developing, not sidelined.

Rec League

  • Staying loose for weeknight games after desk days.
  • Fixing nagging aches before they become time off.

Play your pickup runs without paying for them Monday.

Competitive & Rep

  • Handling high game volume across long tournament days.
  • Sharpening power and agility while managing wear and tear.

Perform when the stakes are highest and stay available.

Adult & Masters

  • Protecting knees and Achilles as tissues change with age.
  • Keeping mobility and strength for the long game.

Keep hooping for decades, not just seasons.

Returning to Play

  • Rebuilding confidence and control after an injury.
  • Passing real return-to-play tests before full contact.

Come back fully ready, not just pain free.

Did You Know?

The Roll You Didn't See Coming

Lateral ankle sprains are the most common basketball injury, and they rarely happen the way people expect.

  • Landing on a foot is a leading trigger, often coming down on another player's shoe.
  • Cutting and pivoting loads the outside ligaments faster than muscles can react.
  • Skipping rehab is why so many sprains come back and turn into chronic instability.

A sprain is not just a tweak, it is a signal to retrain the ankle.

Jumper's Knee Creeps Up

Patellar tendon pain builds slowly from repeated jumping and landing, and it is very common at the top levels.

  • Up to 1 in 3 elite basketball players deal with jumper's knee.
  • Stiff landings with little knee bend load the tendon harder every time.
  • Progressive loading rebuilds the tendon's capacity to handle jumping.

Pushing through tendon pain usually makes the recovery longer, not shorter.

The Landing That Ends Seasons

ACL tears are the injury players fear most, and the pattern behind them is well understood.

  • Few involve a direct hit, with most happening on a cut or a single-leg landing.
  • Female players face a substantially higher risk, roughly three times that of male players.
  • Neuromuscular training can cut ACL injury risk by half or more.

The ACL is largely preventable, and prevention starts before the season does.

Are You Training for Basketball Season?

Whether you are ramping up for tryouts, chasing a tournament run, or coming back after time off, the weeks before you play hard matter most. We help you build the strength, control, and conditioning to handle the load before it hits.

What most players skip:

  • Landing mechanics: most non-contact knee injuries trace back to how you land and cut.
  • Single-leg strength: one-legged control is what protects ankles and knees under game speed.
  • A real warm-up: structured neuromuscular warm-ups have cut injury rates in elite players by more than half.

We Cover Your Events On-Site

On-site physio for basketball tournaments, leagues, and camps, led by a certified sport physiotherapist trained to assess and treat injuries court-side, so a small injury never becomes a season-ending one.

On-site, we handle:

  • Triage: we tell a simple strain from something serious, fast, so a player does not make it worse by staying in.
  • Taping and bracing: on-the-spot ankle and joint support so players can keep moving safely through the game.
  • Concussion or acute screening: a trained eye on every head knock and a clear call on whether it is safe to return.
  • Return-to-play calls: an honest professional decision before a small tweak turns into a season-ending tear.
  • Between-game recovery: soft tissue work and assisted stretching that reset tired legs between matchups.
  • Dynamic warm-up: guided prep for hips, groin, and shoulders that primes players and lowers injury risk before the first whistle.

How We Help Players Stay in the Game

Basketball puts unique demands on the body, so our care is built around the sport, not generic protocols. Our multi-disciplinary team combines assessment, hands-on treatment, and targeted training to get you back to full speed and keep you there.

Physiotherapy

  • Ankle and knee rehab: restore strength, balance, and control after sprains and tendon pain.
  • Movement retraining: fix the landing and cutting patterns that drive re-injury.
  • Return-to-play testing: confirm you are ready with real benchmarks, not guesswork.

Chiropractic

  • Joint mobility: keep hips, spine, and ankles moving freely for explosive play.
  • Load management: address stiffness and imbalances before they limit your game.
  • Performance support: align care with your training so you stay on the court.

Massage Therapy

  • Recovery between games: ease tight calves, quads, and hips through busy schedules.
  • Overuse relief: manage the wear that builds up over a long season.
  • Circulation and mobility: support tissue recovery so you bounce back faster.

When one player stays healthy, the whole team stays stronger, and that is what we are here for.
